Rules and Instructions

         Paper submission deadline: June 30th, 2008

         Paper submission must follow these instructions:

         Types of Presentation:

         Free papers: oral presentations given on pre-arranged dates. They will be done in eight minutes, followed by a two-minute discussion and questions at the session coordinator's discretion. The presenter must be registered in the Congress.

         PowerPoint presentations: Each presentation should consist of up to 30 slides and take the maximum of five minutes for participants to see them all. Different types of digital media can be used (images, video, flash etc.).

         INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICATION AND PAPERS

  1. Before writing your paper, read all the regulations carefully. Papers not following the regulations will not be accepted.

  2. Authors must register for the Congress before submitting their papers, directly on the Congress website (www.congressocbr.com.br ), option Scientific Papers - Registration.

  3. The authors' e-mail and password used for the Congress application are required for submission.

  4. Do not include authors' names or institutions here. Graphics, tables or images are not allowed in papers, nor bold type, italics, symbols or any other kinds of differentiation.
    Note: Entries via fax, post office, e-mail or letter will not be accepted.

  5. Papers must be written in 200-300 words, not including titles and authors' names. The word counter in the electronic application form does not accept exceeding words. If you have 'copied and pasted', the text should be proofread.

  6. Writing guidelines and order to follow:
    For Papers: Title in capital block letters. Introduction must contain a brief description of aims. Casuistry and Methodology. Main Results and Aims. Conclusions.

    For Iconographic Essays and Case Reports: Title in capital block letters. Introduction. Material Description. Discussion.

  7. Authors' names and institutions must be mentioned apart and never included in the papers.

  8. Languages:
    Portuguese, Spanish and English. Papers can be presented in any of the Congress official languages (English, Spanish and Portuguese). Papers in Portuguese or Spanish must have an English version enclosed.

  9. By submitting their papers, the authors undertake the responsibility of presenting their papers in the Congress, if they are accepted.

  10. Submitted papers are not supposed to have been published/presented in other national scientific events.

  11. There are no limits for the number of papers by the same author, who can be the main presentator of up to 02 papers only.

  12. The authors authorize the Congress Organizing Committee and all the supporting medical societies to publish their papers (printed or virtual versions) in order to advertise the Congress nationally, internationally and in all types of media, without being paid royalties.

  13. The Scientific Committee will evaluate the papers and select only the ones of scientific quality and within the regulations. The Committee is entitled to modify the category, time and way of presentation.

  14. Important deadlines:
    30 July - list of accepted papers on the Congress site.
    01 August - presentation timetables.

  15. The whole text of accepted electronic panels must be sent by 30 August 2008. Alterations to files will not be allowed after they have been sent in.

  16. Papers not submitted by the dates set by the CBR will not be allowed to be presented and will be disqualified. After the deadline, no alterations to presentations will be allowed.

  17. The authors will be informed about the date, venue and timetable of their presentations by e-mail in due time.

  18. All the accepted papers will be given a certificate of presentation at the Congress.

  19. Submitted papers are supposed to be presented if accepted. Authors are supposed to present the free themes or electronic panels if the submitted résumés are accepted. The presentations are expected to have the papers contents. Significant changes in the published résumés or the author's absence might affect their paper submission in future events. Paper submission and presentation will be at the author's expense.

  20. Conflicts of interest: The authors must inform whether, in the past 12 months, they have been affiliated to or have had relevant financial relationships with commercial enterprises that produce, commercialize, sell or distribute medical goods, products or services to patients. The CBR does not aim at preventing people from participating but identifying conflicts of interest.

  21. Presentations must not contain any sales promotion. Furthermore, the patients' data should be kept in privacy. Names, hospital identification or any other personal information are not allowed to be mentioned in the presentation.
Checklist. Before submitting your paper, check if you have followed all the procedures:
